Viewpoint solutions slide converter

Hello Everyone. I have a Viewpoint 35mm Slide Converter. I bought it used and it has been working just fine. I am in the process of converting slides to digital for a customer. Today the counter on the right side of the screen counted down to all zeros and now I have a red box in a black square in the middle of the screen and I can't convert any more slides. See attached photo. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Can I someway add numbers to the count down counter? I appreciate any help. No attached photo. Are you using the free trial version?

It will open in the MS picture viewer from where it can be saved anywhere on your computer as a jpg file and it can then be manipulated in many graphics programs including VueScan, ACDSee, or Photoshop.
