When I came back I found that basically the servers' desktop ui was semi-responsive. A few apps I was able to close but Resource Monitor was hung, an Explorer window was hung and no response to three finger salute. Server restarted [apparently] fine but now windows update won't run at all returning error B. Not sure wth to do now.
The solutions do not apply to server Any help much appreciated. I really don't want to reinstall this server OS. SW and a couple of other services on it and migrating it all would be a major PitA. Restart the server. The software distribution folder will be recreated. It holds the dB and old windows update downloads. Take a snapshot just in case.
The WIndows update framework is practically the same on all of the modern Windows versions. Just run the repair for Windows Update and see if it works. Untick everything else. I have not tried either of these so I will, but may have to wait till tonight or over the weekend as I'm guessing there might be at least a few reboots involved.
Will most certainly report back with results. I think I'm gonna try Caur's tool suggestion next as there does seem to be a corruption problem and maybe tool will succeed. I restored my PC to earlier point and I was able to start it again. Later on I deleted specific update file and windows update works normally now. I tried thde dism. I tried by disabling the antivirus but no luck I tried by running the command of scanfx but not worked I tried by installing manually one by one but still hard luck I tried by renaming the softwaredistribution folder but the result was same Kindly help me out for this issue as this server is driving me crazy now.
